Webserver Vulnerabilities
Webservers can be particularly vulnerable to attack. We deliberatly invite people to them and open up holes in the firewall to allow them access to a particular machine. If the webserver does not have all of its updates, or has not been setup properly, or particular components like data servers and web applications have not been installed or updated properly, then the server itself can be comprimised. In small to medium businesses, that host thier own websites, the role of webserver often falls to a mission-critical server, or in some cases the only server on thier network. Consequently if that machine becomes comprimised, the results can be devastating.
IS Systems can help you evaluate and elimiate webserver vulnerabilities as well as assist in ongoing webserver management.
